About

Caitlyn Bannatyne is a comic creator and illustrator from Glasgow. She was one of ten to be chosen for the Scottish Book Trust’s mentorship program “What’s Your Story?” in 2015, where she was mentored through the creation of her first comic “Error 22”.
She studied her HND Visual Communication, with an emphasis on illustration, at City of Glasgow College and her BA Honours in Computer Arts at Abertay University. Her honours project was the comic “Noone o’ thaim witches” which was inspired by the campaign “Witches of Scotland”. “Noone o’ thaim witches” and “The Calder Witch Hunt” are used in schools across Scotland through the project “The Calder Witch Hunt”.
Caitlyn is currently based in Dundee, Scotland and works primarily with pencil and ink before moving onto digital software, but she also makes linocut illustrations when she needs a break from the computer screen. When she isn’t drawing or coming up with stories, Caitlyn likes collecting stones from beaches, visiting museums and rewatching her favourite horror movies. Caitlyn is inspired mostly by horror, history, fairytales and ghost stories.
